Why Handwriting is called BRAINWRITING ?

Handwriting is referred to as "brainwriting" because it originates from the brain. The act of writing involves complex neural processes where the brain sends signals to the muscles in the hand to form letters. This coordination engages multiple areas of the brain responsible for motor skills, visual, sensory, memory, and cognitive function.
The workings of the brain are mysterious:
  • What are neural signals?
  • What do they mean?
  • How do our senses really sense?
  • And how does our brain control our movements?

Watch the video to see how your brain controls hand movements—and even how your brain can control someone else's arm.

Global Handwriting News

California Governor Gavin Newsom has passed a law mandating cursive writing in schools across the state.

The research has been very clear that cursive writing is a critical life skill in helping young people to express more substantively, to think more critically, and ultimately, to express more authentically - Says Stephen.

California-based neuroscientist Claudia Aguirre says "more and more neuroscience research is supporting the idea that writing out letters in cursive, especially in comparison to typewriting, can activate neural pathways that facilitate and optimize overall learning and language development.

Students need time and practice and exercise in handwriting before you introduce them to writing on a tablet. There’s clear scientific evidence that digital tools impair rather than enhance student learning,” - says Sweden’s Karolinska Institute.

Sweden Education Minister Lotta Edholm  brings handwriting practice back to tech-heavy schools.
Ontario Education Minister Stephen Lecce has made cursive handwriting mandatory in school curriculums.
